“Let’s Dance” Stars Renata and Valentin Take a Much-Needed Break – But Vacation Plans Nearly Derailed by Health Scare
It’s been a whirlwind few months for Let’s Dance professionals Renata (38) and Valentin Lusin (38). After an intense season spent coaching their celebrity partners—Christine Neubauer (63) and Mark Eggers (38)—the two dance pros finally have time to breathe. While neither made it to the winner’s podium, the trophy ultimately went to fan favorite Ekaterina Leonova (38) and her partner, Diego Pot (21).
Now, as the glitter settles and the spotlight dims, it’s finally time to relax—at least in theory. Before the grand Let’s Dance live tour kicks off in the fall, Renata and Valentin have taken off on a family getaway with their one-year-old daughter, Stella. The trio is currently traveling through Italy in a camper van, enjoying the scenic views of Lake Garda.
But what was meant to be a carefree vacation has taken a worrisome turn.
Just days into their trip, little Stella suddenly fell ill. Renata shared a heartfelt update on Instagram, explaining that their daughter had developed a high fever overnight without any warning signs. “She was absolutely fine in the evening,” Renata wrote, clearly concerned. “Then in the middle of the night, the fever hit.”
Throughout the following day, Stella’s condition didn’t improve. “She’s been having on-and-off fever all day—at times as high as 39°C,” Renata reported.
Despite alternating between fever-reducing medications, the young dancer mom admitted the relief was only temporary. “We just don’t understand what’s going on. She has no other symptoms,” she added in frustration.
Understandably, the Lusins decided to pause all further travel plans. “Everything else is on hold. The only thing that matters is that Stella gets better,” Renata posted.
Thankfully, there’s finally some good news. In a new Instagram Story, Renata updated her fans with a sigh of relief. “Thank you for all the messages and advice,” she wrote. “Stella had two rough nights and one tough day, but this morning, her fever went down without any medication.”
Not only is the fever gone, but Stella has also regained her appetite and is back to smiling, which Renata says is the best sign yet. “She’s happy and eating again,” the dancer beamed.
Still, a bit of worry lingers. Renata mentioned that she’s now concerned Valentin may have caught whatever bug Stella had. But so far, there’s no cause for alarm. “At least we’re over the worst of it,” she wrote. “We don’t have to cancel the rest of the trip.”
With Stella on the mend, the Lusins are back on track. Their original plan included a detour through Tuscany—where they were hoping to enjoy some seaside relaxation—followed by a leisurely three-day return trip with scenic stops along the way. And now, it looks like those plans are back on the table.
For the Lusins, it’s finally time to dance to a slower rhythm.
